Three years later, I was fluent in Spanish.
I've experienced first hand not only the benefits of being bilingual, but the best strategies for becoming bilingual. I know the best way to learn a new language is to completely immerse yourself in it. It's to get to a point where you're thinking in that language, not just translating word for word from your native language.
