Rafael Zambrana

Profession: US Customs, US Immigration and NASA
Government
After my military service I worked in NY City as a US Customs Patrol Office. I transferred over to the US Immigration service and then worked for NASA (retired). The Defense Contract Management Agency offered me a job and I worked for 10 years.

Interests: I was born in the island of Puerto Rico. My parents moved to the Unites States when I was 2 years old. We were a dual language family. Some spoke no English so I learned both languages growing up.
I served in the USAF and have worked for US Customs, US Immigration and as a Quality Assurance Inspector/Quality Systems Auditor for NASA. I truly enjoyed working with the astronauts and all the gear and equipment that would fly on the Space Shuttles. Shortly after retiring from NASA I was employed by the US Defense Contract Management Agency as a Quality Assurance Representative. We inspected items destined for the US military. I take pride in the fact that no item inspected by me ever failed in the field. After 10 years I decided it was time to retire for real. My wife and I decided to make Valencia Spain our retirement home.

Education: New Mexico State University (did not graduate)
Government
I studied Police Science with the goal of becoming a Criminologist. Studies were interrupted by family crisis. I joined the USAF shortly after leaving college.

Tutor Billy

Profession: Senior Vice President
Real Estate, Operations, Building and Architecture, Hospitality and Tourism
Worked for privately owned investment company with multiple businesses including investments in commercial real estate, the parking and transportation industry, as well as the tourism business.

Tutor
English Language Instruction
Six years experience tutoring English primarily to University aged students and up.

Interests: I'm an avid traveler and have visited most states in the USA, but I love to explore other countries and learn something of their culture. I have visited many areas of the world including Mexico, much of Central America, and
Argentina and Colombia in South America. I first traveled to Southeast Asia 18 years ago and fell in love with the area so when I decided to retire 4 years ago, I moved to Vietnam, where I currently live. I continue to explore Southeast Asia, but also want to know Korea and Japan. When traveling I enjoy seeing natural wonders and historical sites, but always make an effort to make friends with local people. I derive more pleasure from the memories shared with them than that moment of wonder inspired by a waterfall or a palace.

I love music - I'm just a listener, not a musician, but it's been a constant companion over the years. I like music from many different decades and genres. If it's good, it's good.

I used to play a lot of sports, but my passion was golf. I still watch it, but, unfortunately, don't get to play it anymore.

I spend most of my mornings drinking coffee and keeping up with the news from around the world. I think it's important for all of us to do so.

Education: Bachelors Degree
Government
Majored in Political Science, but my career was in commercial real estate, airport parking, transportation, and tourism.
