Interests: I have a varied background; early in life, I worked as a secretary, eventually progressing to a senior level in that field. I trained to become a beauty therapist and eventually owned a beauty business for 30 years. During this time, I employed staff, ran many educational workshops for staff and clients and gained my teaching qualification. I attended university as a mature student achieving a BSc Hons in Nutrition. Alongside running my business, I started teaching Health, beauty and Nutrition in Adult Education.
Eventually, I became the Curriculum Manager with the responsibility of organising training programmes,
assessing and training tutors and setting up beauty training centres.
I have also been a foster carer, and I retired from being a carer for adults with learning disabilities and mental ill-health in February 2020
