Interests: Hello, my name is Alan. I was born and raised in the U.S. in Dallas, Texas. Most of my life has been lived as a teacher/mentor/consultant to others. My career has spanned almost 50 years in areas including Finance, Business Consulting, Technology and Education. I have a Masters degree (M.Ed) from Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas. I love teaching as it has always been part of my life, and continues to be an important part of my life today whether I am teaching working professionals how to improve their English, or teaching younger learners the basics concepts of English, my life has been spent working to help others achieve their goals and objectives. My motivation for teaching is simple. The countries I have lived in...the U.S., Mexico, Thailand, Azerbaijan, Costa Rica, have given me much in the way of experience, perspective and opportunity. I seek only to return much of what I have learned to those who may get some value, some assistance from what I know and can share with them. Today, I live and work in Southern Portugal in the Algarve region. I continue to teach and work with students, both face-to-face as well as online. My teaching method is simple yet flexible. I tailor each lesson plan to the student and what your needs are.
