Interests: I am a British writer and educator based in Latin America for the last 7 years. I began my career working in the London Film and Music Industry. As a graduate of Queen Mary University of London, I built connections as a script editor and writer for independent filmmakers. Throughout this time I also worked as a freelance cameraman for music videos. It was during this time that I first began to work professionally as a writer. Editing and rewriting artistic projects gave me my first taste of creating a client's vision and working to their parameters. As a result of this experience, I gained work as an editor for Wolters Kluwers and spent a year working in their scientific journals department. Unfortunately, London was not to be, and I relocated to Bogota, Colombia, and began a career as an educator. I began with a trial by fire working in the severely underfunded public schools around the city. During this time I developed my interpersonal skills and truly learned what it meant to work with people of dramatically different backgrounds. It was here that I also developed a continuing passion for social work. I relocated to Guadalajara in Mexico in 2016 and with some friends set up a collective that gathers and distributes food, clothing, toiletries, and electronics to refugees and asylum seekers attempting to reach the country's Northern border.
