Prior to this, I worked in Inclusion Services as a Learning Support Mentor at my local University. My role was to support individual students in their academic studies and liaise between students, tutors and other members of staff. The students I supported had specific learning differences such as autism, ADHD or dyslexia and occasionally I also worked with individuals for whom English was not their first language. Every single one of my students passed their degrees, and together we 'snatched victory from the jaws of defeat,' as they would often be at the point of failing their modules before being assigned to me. Whether I am helping students improve their conversational English, pass exams or gain qualifications, I view it as a privilege and honour to be part of their educational journey: supporting them in the attainment of their goals and aspirations!

In my earlier working life, I was employed within my family's business as an Outdoor Pursuits Instructor for 10 years. I instructed large corporate groups for team-building events (Bentley Motors, Toyota, Unilever, Marks and Spencer Group to name a few) as well as Stag and Hen parties and small family groups. It was my job to train people in the safe handling of dangerous equipment and ensure the outdoor pursuits activities were delivered correctly and to schedule. Activities I instructed included archery, static target rifle shooting, quad biking, land raft building, treasure hunts and themed Zombie attack events! While Studying towards my BA, I also began working in the office as an admin assistant alongside a variety of big chain retail jobs. From 2012-2015 I worked full-time for the family business as Administration and Marketing Lead, plus Outdoor Pursuits Instructor.
