I worked as a chef in a local restaurant for 4 years learning about the cuisine of Bulgaria.

Interests: Working as a chef in a local restaurant in Bulgaria enabled me to learn the language (and as a bonus local recipes) much faster than I would have done normally, but I've still got a long way to go !! Although I was a teacher/university lecturer in the UK, cooking and in particular baking is my passion.

I love travelling and have had the opportunity to visit many places around the world including China, many countries in Africa and most countries in Europe, finally settling to live in Bulgaria where there is plenty of open countryside for long walks with our dogs and trying to become partially self sufficient by growing my own fruit and vegetables for my recipes.

On a personal level I live with my husband and an ever increasing number of animals (currently 5 dogs and 9 cats) in a small village away from the big cities. I have a great deal of "life experience" and have been employed in various positions in many business sectors over the years.

I do not profess to know everything by any means, but we can have fun finding out together !! You can never stop learning and I am an avid reader of all types of books.

I hope this has given you some insight into "me" and I am looking forward to working with you all.
