I have been teaching on Cambly since November 2020. I am happy to have conversation classes, Cambly courses or Engoo. Sometimes students bring something they are studying or some questions to class. This makes class really interesting.

I taught English online for two years from 2018, with Chinese students, mostly younger learners. This was my first experience teaching online but I enjoyed being able to give my full focus to one student and getting to know my students better.

I was an English teacher in South Korea for 7 years, first in a private school teaching adults and then in a public middle school. I also taught in Italy with students of all ages including business students.

Volunteer Management

I volunteered when I was in South Korea and when I returned to the UK this became a full time job. I have worked at several charities and really enjoy working with volunteers, although this is not currently my focus.

Interests: ▶I was a member of the Association of Speakers Clubs here in the UK, where I improved my public speaking skills and practised both planned and impromptu speeches, so if you need to do a presentation or make a speech, I have a lot of tips! 🤗

▶I lived in South Korea for 7 years as an English teacher and volunteered at an animal shelter while I was there. I've travelled widely including trips to China, Japan, New Zealand, America, Canada, Paris and Italy.🤠

▶Please note: Over the course of my travels my accent has evolved and when teaching I tend to have a more American sounding accent.

▶I enjoy being out in my garden, going for walks in the nearby Lake District and talking about pets, travelling and different cultures.

▶I am a big Discworld fan, so if you like Terry Pratchett we will have a lot to talk about! 😆(I will definitely mention him at some point in class!🤓)

▶I usually watch Korean, Japanese, Thai and Chinese Dramas. I am learning Chinese, but I haven't had much time to study recently...I'm not a very good student.😣

▶A note on reservations: I will open up reservations for new students at the beginning of each week.
