For nearly four years, working for the UK and US governments, I led teams of trainers who delivered classroom training and active mentoring for Afghan Police Officers. Previously I taught technical skills to UK Customs Officers.

Interests: I am currently travelling throughout the world with my partner. We look after homes and pets while the owners are away. It is very exciting to experience life among other cultures, and not as a tourist but a resident!
I love to keep fit, including running and cycling. My passion is hiking, particularly in the mountains and I have now completed eleven long distance trails in the United Kingdom and a marathon.
I was top of the class in English Literature - way back! - we were so lucky to be inspired by our teachers, particularly a Welshman who was absolutely passionate about literature and an Irish poet who brought to the school his friends; including the famous Seamus Heaney -- so naturally I still love books.
I really appreciate my life on Cambly and the opportunity to meet people from all over the world (all of you are individuals, with your own special lives and aspirations). Having now nearly 5800 student sessions and 108000 minutes tutoring, through sheer dedication I have sharpened my English language teaching techniques and resources to provide an excellent service for you all.

I went to one of the top and most historical colleges in Ireland. My teachers were inspirational and several in particular sparked off my love of English language and literature. Many famous people went there including the designer of the Titanic!
