Interesses: Hello! My name is Sara and I’m from England. I love to travel and I’ve lived in Spain, Portugal and right now I’m in the South of France. As well as teaching, I work as a freelance illustrator and I love all things artistic and creative. Before I became a teacher I trained as an actor and performed in theatres in the UK. When I have free time I enjoy playing the guitar, singing, reading and practicing yoga.

Although I’ve taught adults and children of all ages, from all over the world, I specialise in helping intermediate and advanced learners to develop their confidence and pronunciation. I will help you to feel calm, powerful and happy when you speak in English. My performing background means that I have many techniques that can help language learners to feel confident even in intimidating situations (like job interviews!), as well as working on articulation so that your speech is as clear as possible.

I believe every language learning journey is unique so in my classes I’ll start by asking you about your goals and intentions. In order to learn, it’s important to feel relaxed, so I’ll create a calm and fun environment for you to be yourself and feel good when you speak English. I think there’s no point in having perfect knowledge of grammar, if it means you speak like a robot and can’t express your ideas and true personality. I can help you discover what might be holding you back. We can examine your obstacles to true confidence and proficiency, whether they be difficulties with grammar, vocabulary, or any specific sounds that you’re struggling with in terms of pronunciation.

I’m a language learner myself which means I know how it feels. I know the fear and the frustrations associated with learning a language. I’ll be there to help you overcome these and to help you make perfecting your English a joyful experience.
